100 Myanmar migrant workers leave for Thailand under MoU

MoU workers were seen at Kawthoung border on 17 October.

Myanmar sent 100 migrant workers to Thailand under the MoU system through the Kawthoung border on 8 November.
They were sent to Kawthoung from Yangon airport by the overseas employment agency (Thailand) and to Thailand by boats via Kawthoung border.
The S.M.Z Co,Ltd , an overseas employment agency (Thailand) sent 40 men and 60 women to work in Thailand at Chicony Election (Thailand) Co,Ltd under 2-year contract. The Thai government announced that they will recruit between 400,000 and 800,000 workers from Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos this year and coming year.
Between May and October 2022, the overseas employment agencies serviced 57,059 migrant workers under MoU to Thailand via No (2) Myawady-Mae Sot Friendship Bridge and Kawthoung-Ranong waterway.
Kawthoung District labour office, Immigration and Population Department, Anti-human trafficking task force and relevant organizations made necessary inspections for workers.–TWA/GNLM
