100 navigation signs erected along Mandalay-Thaphandaunt Myinmu river route

A total of 100 navigation signs have been erected along the Mandalay-Thaphandaunt-Myinmu river route Ayeyawady River, as stated by the Mandalay Region’s Navigation Section.
Since 12 March, a total of 200 signs, including 100 signs for a waterway and another 100 signs for shore, have been erected for the safe passage of ships along the water course. Currently, 100 signs for the waterway and shore have been erected, and 50 per cent of the work has been completed.
Currently, the Ayeyawady River is full of water. Hence, passenger boats and cargo ships travelling in the river are able to travel easily. Still, during high water, watercraft need to be careful when travelling in the defiles of the river.
Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems of River Systems said that signs are being erected so that the ships that will be travelling from Mandalay Port in May can travel safely. — TWA/KZL
