A total of 1,394 Myanmar citizens returned home from Thailand through Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge (2) of Myawady border town in Kayin State yesterday.
Among them, the 462 persons entered Myanmar by 22 buses under the arrangement of two governments, and the remaining 932 people arrived back in their own schedules from different areas of Thailand.
Officials helped them with medical tests and other supplies.
Myanmar migrant workers have been repatriated from Thailand since 1 May, and a total of 5,177 persons have arrived back home until now.
The latest group of returnees included 6 from Kachin, 12 from Kayah, 190 from Kayin, 137 from Mon, 71 from Sagaing, 434 from Bago, 209 from Magway, 42 from Yangon, 85 from Mandalay, 48 from Nay Pyi Taw, 49 from Shan, 9 from Taninthayi, 22 from Rakhine and 80 from Ayeyawady respectively.—Htein Lin Aung (IPRD) (Translated by Aung Khin)
