The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation recently announced that Myanmar’s South Sea Pearl Emporium will be held in Nay Pyi Taw.
The 142nd pearl emporium is scheduled from 12 to 15 August, with a central committee meeting on sales of pearl lots held in Nay Pyi Taw on 2 August.
The southern part of Myanmar, particularly the Myeik Archipelago, is renowned for its pearl production. Pieces of golden South Sea pearl are favourite in foreign countries. These pearls are in high demand in Japan, China, Hong Kong, and India. Additionally, the United States, Canada, and South Korea have shown interest in Myanmar’s pearls. — TWA/ TRKM
