1,516 dengue fever cases found with 2 casualties in 5 months

The total number of people infected with dengue fever is 1,516 and the number of deaths is two, said Union Minister for Health Prof Dr Thet Khaing Win during a coordination meeting on prevention of the outbreak of dengue fever.
He said the dengue fever is a viral disease transmitted through the bite of an Aedes mosquito and so it should conduct cleaning processes in environment, educating programmes not to be bitten by mosquitoes, vaccination at schools during school opening seasons and other preventive measures for dengue fever. There are about 390 million dengue fever infections in the world per year and mostly common in Indonesia, Thailand and Myanmar. According to data, Myanmar reported 5,446 cases of dengue fever and 36 deaths from the disease in 2021. —TWA/GNLM
