154 Myanmar citizens repatriated from Singapore on 28 June

Myanmar Airways International (MAI)’s relief flight carrying 154 Myanmar nationals stranded in Singapore landed at the Yangon International Airport yesterday.
On arrival at the airport, officials from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Yangon Region government provided the returnees proper medical examination and arranged 21-day quarantine for them.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working in line with the guidelines set by the National Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 and cooperating with relevant ministries, Myanmar embassies abroad to repatriate Myanmar citizens stranded in other countries due to COVID-19.
Until now a total of 5,827 Myanmar citizens have been brought back home.
In addition, the government is planning to repatriate tenth batch of Myanmar citizens who were stranded in Singapore on 1 July. — MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
