1,599,364 acres reclaimed within specified period

A total of 1,599,364 acres that had not been utilized within the specified period were reclaimed, according to the Central Committee on Management of Vacant, Fallow, and Virgin Lands.
After the enactment of the Vacant, Fallow, and Virgin Lands Management Law (VFV Law), the central committee issued permissions for individuals to use a total of 2,741,279 acres. Additionally, during the specified period, a total of 15,993.64 acres that had not been utilized were confiscated, according to the proceedings of the 14th meeting of the Central Committee on Management of Vacant, Fallow, and Virgin Lands held on 10 July.
Union Minister U Min Naung, chairman of the Central Committee on Management of Vacant, Fallow, and Virgin Lands, emphasized the concerned officials the importance of enforcing the collection of annual land tax levies once the land tax exemption period ends for those entitled to use it. He also urged specific actions to be taken regarding cases of land tax arrears and non-compliance with specified terms, emphasizing the confiscation of security deposits as national funds. — TWA/MKKS
