Returnees receive advice from an official.

A total of 171 Myanmar migrant workers — 126 men and 45 women — who served terms in Thailand for various offences arrived in Kawthoung on 24 April via Ranong, Thailand, by boat.
Kawthoung District and Township Administration officials, Public Health Departments and departmental staff and NGOs made careful examinations lest the returnees should have COVID-19 infection and non-Myanmar citizens were among them. Then they were provided with food, healthcare and other necessary assistance.
Those who tested positive were put under surveillance at Kawthoung People’s Hospital and those who tested negative were transported back to their hometowns.
Myanmar nationals who have served their sentences in prisons in southern Thailand are often transferred to Kawthoung authorities at least once a month or more. — TWA/KZW
