183 Myanmar nationals repatriated

A total of 183 Myanmar nationals – 87 migrant workers and 96 people who were charged and punished for petty crimes in Thailand returned to the country via the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge 2 in Tachilek Township yesterday.
The 87 migrant workers – 36 males and 51 females and 96 citizens – 76 males and 20 females who completed their punishment—were transferred by Thai officials to Myanmar officials.
Myanmar health officials conducted COVID-19 tests on returnees.
The swab tests will be conducted three times currently and the returnees will have to undergo quarantine at the Wanglong quarantine centre before they go back to their regions.
Thai officials also transferred 203 Myanmar nationals on 4 June. — TWA/GNLM
