2 motorbike riders killed in collision with six-wheel vehicle in Bago

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a six-wheel vehicle and a motorbike in Kyauktaga Township in Bago Region on 21 August.
According to the investigation, the accident took place between Mileposts 111/0 and 111/1 on Yangon-Mandalay old road, Kanbawza ward, Taw Kywe Inn town in Kyauktaga Township in Bago Region. The six-wheel vehicle was en route to Mandalay from Yangon, driven by Phyo Thura Hein, 19, together with Yan Naing Aung, 25, and Akar Kyaw, 27, Thant Zin, 20 and Kyaw Myo Tun,22, onboard when it crashed into a motorbike heading to Mandalay from Yangon, driven by Zwe Ko Ko aka Ko Zuu, 33, together with an unknown person. The collision took place when the six-wheel vehicle attempted to move to a different direction. Two people from motorcycle were pronounced dead on the spot while no one from the six-wheel vehicle was injured. The police from Taw Kywe Inn town filed charges against the driver identified as Phyo Thura Hein, 19, under section 304 A of the Penal Code. —Khin Ko (Kyauktada) (Translated by Hay Mar)
