Nay Pyi Taw, 24 March—Authorities released 19 men and one woman Tuesday who were detained during a crackdown on student protestors earlier this month in Bago Region’s Letpadan, 90 miles north of Yangon.
They were turned over to their parents and relatives this morning, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The authorities have so far released 28 students and two reporters arrested in the crackdown after determining their roles in the protests.—MNA
