Consumers can report to MRF if rice price exceeds reference rate

Consumers are buying rice sold at reference prices.

Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) said Shwebo pawsan, Ayeyawady pawsan and eh-ma-hta rice have been sold at reference rates and if there is any difficulty to buy or prices exceed the reference rate, consumers can report to its office phone numbers.

Under MRF’s good rice and good price plan, shwebo pawsan, Ayeyawady pawsan and eh-ma-hta rice in 10-kilo and 5-kilo bags have been sold in accordance with MRF’s reference rate at rice mills, rice retail shops and rice wholesale centres nationwide and supermarkets and minimarts in cities including Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon Region, Mandalay Region, Bago Region and Ayeyawady Region, MRF said.

This plan has provided for factories, civil servants, government departments and institutions, as well as retail shops, therefore consumers can purchase in accordance with reference prices in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay and Mawlamyine, it said.

In Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay, pawsan and eh-ma-hta rice are distributed to rice shops in different townships, from them, rice are sold in cash on delivery service to households.
