Passport for Education (PE passport) extension for students studying short-term courses in Thailand will no longer be available at Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok and Myanmar Consulate General in Chiang Mai as of 16 September.
At present, PE passport renewal can be made in a single day at the embassy in Bangkok and at the consulate general in Chiang Mai, for Myanmar students studying in Thailand’s universities.
Since there are many students who have joined short-term courses such as Teaching English for Teachers-TET and Certificate Program in Thai Language for teachers, through virtual format with Non-ED visa, PE passport extension service will stop for short-term course students in Bangkok and Chiang Mai as from 16 September (Monday), Myanmar Embassy announced on 12 September.
For students who are learning long-term courses such as undergraduate and postgraduate in universities and primary and secondary school students in Thailand, PE passport renewal will be continued to provide as usual, it said.
