As the water receded and the roads reopened, Danyingone market, Yangon’s green wholesale and retail market, has been continuously receiving cargo trucks, according to inquiries.
It has been two days since the roads were closed due to the flood and the green goods trucks were unable to enter the market.
“All shopping cars and green trucks re-entered. Cargo trucks have returned for two days. Green market hasn’t returned to normal. The market is not stable yet,” an official at the stall no 2 of the Danyingone market told the Global New Light of Myanmar.
Flooding and landslides occurred due to Yagi typhoon in Myanmar and there has been a shortage of supplies due to some disruptions in transportation.
“In the meantime, goods will continue to come in. Therefore, the prices of goods will become stable. The roads are open because the water has receded. The trucks are also full of goods,” said a a green seller.
