237 return from China through border on 23 May

Myanmar people returning from China through Muse and Laukkai and Chinshwehaw in Kokang Self-Administered Zone in Shan State (North) have been systematically transported back to their respective regions and states from Lashio by train.
First the people who came home via Muse and Laukkai and Chinshwehaw were properly checked, and transported them to Lashio by car. From Lashio they have been sent to the respective regions and states beginning 6 May this year. On 23 May, 237 persons – 151 males and 86 females – were sent back home. Of them, one was from Kachin State, 35 from Sagaing Region, 46 from Bago, 80 from Magway, 32 from Mandalay, five from Nay Pyi Taw, 20 from Rakhine, one from Yangon Region and 17 from Ayeyawady Region. Under the supervision of COVID-19 prevention, containment and treatment committee, the chairman and members of Lashio District and Township COVID-19 prevention, containment and treatment committees, officials of Operator Licence, Transport Coordination and Supervisory Division (Shan State joint office), officials of Myanma Railways, members of township private road transport supervisory committee, social welfare organizations and Red Cross, and well-wishers are rendering assistance in providing food and accommodation, health checks, hostels and transport for the homecoming people. —Nang Thanda Oo (IPRD) (Translated by TMT)
