The Sasanahita Parahita alms and rice donation group went on a pilgrimage and charity tour for two days with one nightstop on 13 and 14 October.
About 50 people accompanied the trip, donated to a charity school, and visited pagodas in and around Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory.
On 13 October, the group went to Lewe Naga Tahtaung pagoda and Samataung pagoda. They donated rice, cooking oil and cash to the Samataung monastic school and spent the night.
Then, at 6:00 am on 14 October, the group left Samataung, and went to the Hlay Khwin Taung pagoda, Letlotetaung, the Uppatasanti pagoda, Shwe Hlwam Taung monastery, Shwe Nan Thwin pagoda, Letlotetaung monastery near the jungle, Chitthu Langyar, and the Maravijaya Buddha statue, and returned to Yangon region.
In September last year, the group also went to Nay Pyi Taw and Bago to donate rice, cooking oil and garments to the flood-affected people, according to U Win Naing, the president of the group.
