35 Myanmar seamen spend hotel quarantine in Kawthoung

A total of 35 Myanmar seamen who signed off from the ships anchored in the Andaman Sea arrived in Kawthoung on 2 September evening and are currently held under hotel quarantine. Out of 35 seamen, 12 signed off from MV Wide Bravo of Malaysia while 10 from MT Chemroad Wing of Indonesia, 6 from MT Ocean Chemist of Bangladesh and 7 from MT Global Venus of Indonesia.
These 35 Myanmar seafarers had swapped duties with 12 seafarers including Captain U Than Htike for MV Wide Bravo, with another 10 seafarers including Captain U Win Tun for MT Chemroad Wing, with 6 seafarers including Captain U Pyi Thin for MT Ocean Chemist and with 7 seafarers including Captain Toe Toe Aung for MT Global Venus. The local officials of jetty and health departments helped them with medical tests and other supplies and put under 21-day hotel quarantine, while their swabs will be sent to the National Health Laboratory of Yangon. —Kyaw Soe (Kawthoung) (Translated by Khine Thazin Han)
