The General Administration Department of Thaton Township in Mon State reported the discovery of 362 votive tablets in the compound of No 4 Basic Education High School in Thaton Township.
The votive tablets were unearthed on the morning of 15 September during construction work for a new building in the compound of the school.
A total of 19 ancient votive tablets discovered in the school compound on 30 August has been handed over to the Mon State Department of Archaeology and National Museum. Over 240 votive tablets in various mudras were unearthed during excavation for a new building in the compound adjacent to the Myanmar Baptist Christian Church near the school in Theingon ward. — ASH/KZW
