Yangon Region launched the COVID-19 vaccination programme at the meeting hall of Nursing Training School in Yangon General Hospital yesterday morning. At the ceremony, the Chief Minister congratulated the front-line health workers in control measures against the pandemic. He then encouraged the healthcare staff in the vaccination programme.
At the Ayeyarwady Centre (Thuwunna), the Covishield vaccines were given to the health workers and volunteers who took part in COVID-19 control measures. Well-wishers contributed cash at the centre to purchase the vaccine.
Out of more than 25,000 health workers in Yangon Region, 200 persons got vaccinated at the meeting hall of Nursing Training School, and a total of 200 health workers and volunteers at the Ayeyarwady Centre.—Min Thit (MNA)
