44 prisoners achieve success in 2022-2023 matriculation examination

The Myanmar National Human Rights Commission (MNHRC) has announced the release of 44 prisoners who successfully passed the 2022-2023 matriculation examination.
The matriculation exam results for the 2022-2023 academic year were declared on 9 June. Among the 161,850 students who appeared for the examination, 44 prisoners — including 10 from Insein prison, 29 from Mandalay prison, and five from other regional or state prisons — achieved success along with 109,851 other students.
These prisoners showcased outstanding academic performance, with one distinction in five subjects, two distinctions in four subjects, 25 distinctions in three subjects, seven distinctions in two subjects, and six distinctions in one subject.
The MNHRC has expressed its commitment to support and facilitate the continuation of education for these prisoners who have excelled in the matriculation examination. Remarkably, the pass rate for prisoners in the matriculation exam stood at an impressive 91.67 per cent. — TWA/MKKS
