47-member leading committee of 8th State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee holds eighth meeting

The eighth meeting of the 47-member leading committee of the 8th State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee began at the Maha Pasana Cave in Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Yangon yesterday.
The meeting was attended by the members of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee led by Chairman Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Bhamo Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa.
Also present at the meeting were Union Minister U Ko Ko of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and other officials of the ministry and relevant departments.
Bhamo Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa presided over the meeting and Joint Secretary Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Senila acted as the master of the ceremonies.
First, Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa recited Saraniya Ovada Gatha.
Then, the Union Minister U Ko Ko briefed the religious affairs and education sectors, and the Sayadaws coordinated the discussion.
The Sayadaws all together recited the Jayanaw Vodhiyamule Gatha, and Sadhu three times.
The Union Minister U Ko Ko and wife Daw Tin Tin Nyunt offered the first and day-time meals to the Sayadaws. Then, U Kyin Oo and wife Daw Chaw Su Lwin (Popular Group) donated medicines and medical supplies to the Sayadaws.
At noon, nine Sayadaws led by Bhamo Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa were chanting Yadana Sutta and Metta Sutta at the Maha Pasana Cave in Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill aiming for all the people living in Myanmar and around the globe to be free from COVID-19 infections. — MNA
