47-member Sangha committee concludes 6th and 7th meeting

The sixth and seventh meeting of the 47-member Sangha committee seen in progress in Yangon yesterday.

The sixth and seventh meeting of the 47-member leading committee of the 8th State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee has successfully concluded at the Maha Pathana Cave in Thiri Mingalar Kaba Aye Hill Yangon yesterday.
The meeting was attended by the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee members led by Chairman Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Bhamo Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa.
Also present at the meeting were Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, the Permanent Secretary, the Director-General and the Deputy Director-General from the Department of Religious Affairs, the Pro-Rector of the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University (ITBMU) and other relevant officials.
The Chairman Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee presided over the meeting, and Joint Secretary Sayadaw of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Bhaddanta Dhammasarya (Agga Maha Ganthavacaka Pandita) acted as the master of the ceremony.
The meeting was organized into eight programmes. The duties and responsibilities of the sub-committee of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka were handed over to the first sub-committee under the rules and regulations of the Sangha.
The family of U Htin Aung and Daw Thida Aung donated offertories to the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Sayadaws, who came to the meeting yesterday. —MNA
