47th Akha New Year Festival, Akha National Day Dinner held

The 47th Akha New Year Festival and Akha National Day Dinner were held in the courtyard of Amei Yinkwin School in Kaungkan No. (1) Ward, Kengtung Township, on 28 December.
First, participants saluted the National Flag and the Akha flag and sang the Akha anthem.
Next, Triangle Region Command Commander Brigadier-General Myo Min Tun gave a speech and the commander and Chairman of Shan State Administration Council Branch U Ye Naing donated K500,000 each to the festival organizing committee.
Then, U Min Nyo, Patron of the Event Organizing Committee addressed the gathering and Patron of the Event Organizing Committee, U Thaung Kyaw, read the Akha National Day message sent by the Chairman of the Akha Ethnic Literature and Culture Committee.
Afterwards, the participants were treated to a traditional Akha dinner and then ethnic young men and women entertained them with beautiful dance and music.
“The Akha people, although different in their dress code, respect only the highest form of genealogy, culture, and language. All the Akha people are urged to preserve this tradition.
