4th Meeting of JSC on Myanmar-India Cooperation in Power Sector held online

The fourth meeting of the Joint Steering Committee-JSC on Myanmar-India Cooperation in the Power Sector is in progress online.

Deputy Minister for Electric Power Dr Aung Zeya and Secretary (Power) Mr Shri Alok Kumar of India jointly hosted the 4th Meeting of the Joint Steering Committee (JSC) on Myanmar-India Cooperation in the Power Sector virtually yesterday.
It was joined by Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Shri Vinay Kumar and embassy officials, officials of the central electricity authority, the Ministry of Power and the Ministry of External Affairs of India, high officials of the Ministry of Electric Power, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Ministry of Industry and Ministry of Science and Technology. The leaders approved the facts discussed at the third and fourth meetings of the JSC on Myanmar-India Cooperation in Power Sector.
Then, they openly discussed the improvement of the country’s power sector, the potential to provide the power needs of the people and bilateral cooperation sectors such as cross-border power lines and the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, power generation from renewable energy, solar power project, energy efficiency, small-scale power distribution system for rural areas and capacity building procedures.
Then, they also discussed the fifth meeting of the Joint Steering Committee (JSC) on Myanmar-India Cooperation in the Power Sector and the deputy minister made a concluding remark. — MNA
