5th National Sports Festival aims to scale up national consolidation, sports standards

Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn chairs the Working Committee on Organizing the Opening and Closing Events yesterday.

The Prime Minister has instructed officials to organize the fifth National Sports Festival with full of essence aiming at scaling up national consolidation and promoting sports standards, said Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, who is also Chairman of the Working Committee on Organizing the Opening and Closing Events, at the committee’s third meeting yesterday.
In his speech, he noted that the festival is to be held on a grand scale to strengthen the national spirit and support the country with sports spirit. The festival is a major one for the country and the entire people.
He then instructed the relevant groups to make preparations for opening and closing events in September depending on the decisions made during the meeting, the duties of the committee to assign responsibilities to the relevant groups and the inspection tour to Wunna Theikdi Stadium made by the experts and committee officials.
Then, the secretary of the committee and other attendees discussed event planning, Free Fall carrying region/state flags and State flags, stage design, opening and closing event plans budget status, performance, technological matters, access to electricity, firework decoration and live streaming plans.
After hearing the reports, the Union minister concluded the meeting. — MNA/KTZH
