The 7th anniversary of Khami National Day will be celebrated at the Gundaryi monastery in Buthidaung Township, Rakhine State on 27 April.
The Khami is one of the Rakhine ethnic groups and Khami national day is scheduled to be celebrated after a conference was held in MraukU Township. Khami national day is annually held in the townships in Rakhine State where Khami ethnic people had been residing since time immemorial.
The first anniversary of Khami national day was held on 27 April in Agyeetaw Ma (2) village in MraukU Township. The Khami national days were celebrated four times in
MraukU Township and one time each in Ponnagyun and Pauktaw townships and the celebrations were held on a rotational basis, said Khami national Ko Kyaw Sann Win.
There are over 80,000 Khami ethnic people in Rakhine State.
