The 8th Asia-Europe Meeting of Education Ministers was chaired by the Thai Ministry of Education at 3 pm yesterday and Education Ministers and officials from 47 countries in Asia and Europe, Deputy minister for Education Dr Zaw Myint and the directors-general attended the meeting.
First, Minister of Education of Thailand Mr Treenuch Thienthong gave a welcome address at the meeting.
Afterwards, the Asian and European Education Ministers delivered speeches on the four strategic goals for Asia-Europe Education for the next decade, and Deputy minister Dr Zaw Myint on behalf of Myanmar discussed the theme of Promoting Lifelong Learning.
Then, the forum of education ministers was held on the theme of cooperation for ASEAN-Europe Education Strategy 2030. It then approved the Asia-Europe Education Strategy and Action Plan 2030. —MNA
