8th Sangha Central Working Committee holds 1st session of 4th Meeting

The first day of the fourth meeting of the Eighth State Sangha Central Working Committee was held at the Maha Pasana Cave on Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Mayangon Township of Yangon Region yesterday.
The meeting was attended by the State Ovadacariya Sayadaws, State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaws, State Sangha Working Committee member Sayadaws, and officials of Religious Affairs Department.
Vice-Chairman of the State Sangha Central Working Committee Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Sumangala Bhivamsa presided over the meeting and Joint Secretary Sayadaw Agga Maha Gandhavasaka Pandita Bhaddanta Dhammasara acted as the master of ceremonies.
Then, the MC Sayadaw reported on the number of attendees to the meeting and announced the event was successful as 86 per cent of Sayadaws joined the event.
Sayadaws presented the Vinicchaya, religious and education-related activities conducted during the term of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee and Joint Secretary Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Setthila coordinated the discussions and sought the approvals.
During the second session of the meeting at noon, Sayadaws submitted the name lists of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Sayadaws who retired during the first three-year term of the eighth committee.
Then, the Joint Secretary Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Sandhima Bhivamsa reported the name lists of newly-elected committee member Sayadaws and State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Chairman Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa approved it.
Then, Chairman Sayadaw read out the name lists of the Committee Vice-Chairman Sayadaws and Joint Secretary Sayadaws to seek the Sangha’s opinions and he concluded the first meeting. —MNA
