AA kidnaps 5 household group leaders in Kyauktaw Tsp


The office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services reported that members of the AA terrorist group kidnapped 5 hundred-household group leaders of Kabaw village and Malar village in Kyauktaw Township, Rakhine State, on 18 May. On the morning of 18 May, hundred-household group leaders U Pan Thar and U Wai Thar Aung from Kabaw village and hundred-household group leaders U Maung Han Thein, U Aung Saw, U Maung Thein Tun, U Maung Thar Win and U Tin Win of Malar village, and four women were on their way from Malar village to pick up COVID-19 objects supplied by the Union government and purchase necessary supplies in Kyauktaw village.
The group divided up to purchase the supplies at Kyauktaw’s market and around 12 pm, U Pan Thar and U Maung Thar Win were abducted by 10 AA terrorists in civilian clothing near Kissapa Thiri Road. U Maung Han Thein, U Wai Thar Aung and U Aung Saw were also abducted by 10 AA terrorists in civilian clothing near a pharmacy on Min Saw Mon Street, to the north of the market, around 12:30 pm Meanwhile, U Maung Thein Tun is reportedly missing.
The AA terrorist group is reportedly kidnapping, intimidating or killing civilians and civil servants who do not support them.
The AA terrorists also reportedly attacked medical personnel and security forces carrying out COVID-19 containment processes by planting an explosive mine near the Kissapanadi Bridge, Kyauktaw, on 11 May.
This unprovoked kidnapping of hundred-household leaders performing their duties to pick up COVID-19 aid supported by the Union government is also a disruption from benefiting the public, according to the office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.—MNA  (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
