ACC opens corruption cases on 4 Yangon officials

Upon investigation, the Anti-Corruption Commission discovered that Police Captain Aung Zaw Moe who previously served in the Pabedan Township Police State, Yangon Region, solicited K600,000 from a man named U Myint Oo for procuring documents related to a case titled (Pa)151/2018. The ACC has charged him with Section 56 of the Anti-Corruption Law. The ACC also discovered that Deputy Director Daw Ni Ni Win of the department of writs received a total of K5,700,000 in seven installments for arranging legal advice concerning two cases titled (Pa)141/2018 and (Pa)151/2018. The ACC has charged her with Section 57 of the Anti-Corruption Law.

The ACC has also discovered that U Nyan Tun Tun, Chairman of Yangon Youth Sanctuary Administration, and treasurer U Myint Oo had given bribes to Pol-Capt Aung Zaw Moe and Daw Ni Ni Win, thereby encouraging corruption. The ACC has charged the two men with Section 63 of the Anti-Corruption Law.
