Action to be taken against basic food price manipulators

Action will be taken against those who manipulate the basic food prices in the market, said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, leader of the Information Team of the State Administration Council during the 19th Press Conference.
“We take proper measures for palm oil and fuel oil. We have to take action if the market manipulation becomes worse. The basic food prices are based on a market-oriented system and so serious actions can affect the trade and market share,” he said.
Some foodstuffs are produced in the country and only a limited amount is exported, he continued.
“During the State-level meeting held on Tuesday, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing instructed to sell the fuel oil as per fixed prices as traders manipulate the prices,” he added. — TWA/GNLM
