1. In order to prevent and eradicate the dangers of narcotic drugs and psychotropic drugs, the Office of the President has formed the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department on 26 June 2018 to systematically accept and respond to reports on drug abuses and other related cases from the general public.
2. With orders from the Office of the President, the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department relayed information on reports on drug-related offences up to 26 September 2020 to the Ministry of Home Affairs to take action, as displayed below:

1.Information received of

Shan Lay who lives in Nan Kway Village of Myitkyina Township, Kachin State, using, distributing and

selling illegal drugs.

On 21 September 2020, police searched the house of Shan Lay (a) Kham Khum, 35, son of U Aung Khum who lives in Nan Kway Village of Myitkyina Township and arrested him together with opium.

A case has been opened against him with NaMaSa (Myitkyina) MaYa(pa) 134/2020 under Section 19 (a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

2.Information received of

Than Tun who lives inYwar Tha Village of Phaungpyin Township, Sagaing Region, using, distributing and

selling illegal drugs.

On 20 September 2020, police searched the house of Than Tun, 57, son of U Tun Kyaing who lives in Ywar Tha Village of Phaungpyin Township and arrested him together with heroin, opium and other 2 compatriots – Maung Thein, 44 son of U Ba Aung, Than Nyunt, 52, son of U Maung Cho.

A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa(Phaungpyin)MaYa(pa)178/2020 under Section 16 (c) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

3.Information received of

Win Pe who lives in Pin

Muu Village, Pinlebu

Township of Sagaing

Region, using, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 24 September 2020, police searched the house of Win Pe, 60, son of U Ba Chwal who lives in in Pin Muu Village of Pinlebu Township and arrested him together with heroin and opium.

A case has been opened against him with MaMaSa (Pinlebu)MaYa (pa) 178/2020 under Section 16(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

4.Information received of

people who live in Laikkya Village, Thabeikkyin

Township, Mandalay

Region, using, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 23 September 2020, police searched the house of Zaw Min Aye (a) Maung Aye, 24, son of U San Wai who lives in Laikkya Village of Thabeikkyin Township and arrested him together with stimulant pills with WY label and 88/1 label.

A case has been opened against him with MaMaSa (Thabeikkyin) MaYa (pa) 26/2020 under Section 19(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

5.Information received of Nay Zar who lives in Taung Wine, Zaycho ward of Mawlamyine Township, Mon State, using, distributing and selling illegal drugs.On 21 September 2020, police searched the house of Nay Zar, 43, son of U Thein Myint who lives in Taung Wine, Zaycho ward of Mawlamyine Township and did not find him.

Police arrested his wife Daw Wah Wah Win, 39, daughter of U Win Sein together with stimulant pills with WY/R label, 1 point 38 Walther pistol and 60 bullets.

A case has been opened against her with NaMaSa (Mupon)MaYa(pa) 52/2020 under Section 19 (a), 21 and 22 (b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

6.Information received of Tin Ko Kyaw and his brother, Htet Wai Lwin (a) Htet Htet who live in No (8) Ward, Shwepyitha Township of Yangon Region, using, distributing and selling illegal drugs.On 26 September 2020, police searched the house of Tin Ko Kyaw, 31, son of U Kyaw Min Swe who lives in No (8) Ward of Shwepyitha Township and arrested him together with his brother called Htet Wai Lwin (a) Htet Htet, 25 and his sister-in-law called Ma Aye Thida, 20, daughter of U Than Chaung and stimulant pills with WY label, ICE and marijuana.

A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa (Shwepyitha)MaYa(pa)33/2020 under Section 19 (a) and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

7.Information received of

people who live in Middle Kannar Ward,
Insein Township, Yangon

Region, distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 26 September 2020, police arrested Ye Min Than, 32, son of U Moe who lives in No (4) Ward of Mayangon Township, on Hline River road in Middle Kannar Ward, Insein Township together with stimulant pills with WY label.

A case has been opened with MaMaSa (Insein)MaYa(pa) 157/2020 under Section 16 ( c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

8.Information received of Ah Thee and Kalar Lay who

live in Sein Pan ward of

Taunggyi Township, Shan State (South), distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 20 September 2020, police searched the house of Kalar Lay (a) Nay Min Tun, 20, son of U Maung Lwin who lives in Sein Pan ward of Taunggyi Township and arrested him together with other compatriot called Nyi Nyi Aung (a) Ah Thee, 23, son of U Nyo Maung and stimulant pills with WY label.

A case has been opened against them with MaMaSa (Taunggyi) MaYa(pa)62/2020 under Section 19 (a) and 21 of the the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

9.Information received of

Than Lwin who lives in

Okkantar Ward, Yaksawk

Township, Shan State

(South), distributing and selling illegal drugs.

On 25 September 2020, police searched the house of Than Lwin, 47, son of U Kan Htoo who lives in Okkantar Ward of Yaksawk Township and arrested him together with stimulant pills with WY label.

A case has been opened against him with MaMaSa(Yaksawk) MaYa (pa) 54/2020 under Section 16(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

3. Out of the information sent to the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department, so far a total of 1,351 cases have been opened files as of 26 September 2020. A total of 2,065 people, including 1,723 men and 342 women had been arrested with 10,422.6194g of heroin, 1,489.42 g of ICE, 47,943.17886 g of opium, 1,407.96g of low-quality opium, 53,363.76 g of speciosa powder, 53,597.32 g of speciosa, 2.5 litres of liquid speciosa, 678,786 stimulant tablets, 14,859.88 g of marijuana, 0.1 litres of opium tincture, 630.28 g of opium blocks, 60 g of poppy seeds, 60.15 g of crushed stimulant tablet powder, 0.001 g of crushed ecstasy powder, 28 firearms, different kinds of 669 cartridges and one grenade. Efforts for fighting the drug trafficking has been stepped up and the department will report on further exposed cases.
4. To seize further drugs and to arrest drugs dealers, people are urged to inform the Ministry of Home Affairs, region and state governments and to inform huge cases of drug trafficking and other suspicious cases directly to the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department of the Office of the President via following contact numbers:
