The Asian Football Confederation has recently invited football fans to vote their favourite Myanmar National League football clubs to select the most popular football club in Myanmar, according to the statement with the AFC. There are four Myanmar National League teams running in the AFC vote list, and they are Yangon United in the first place, MNL defending champions Shan United in the second place, Yadanarbon FC in the third and Ayeyarwady United in the fourth place respectively.
Fans can vote their favourite Myanmar teams on the official website of the AFC named www.the-AFC.com. The poll will end on 30 October, according to the AFC. “As AFC continues its series looking at the most popular clubs across the Continent, we stay in ASEAN to focus on Myanmar and ask you, the fans, to vote for your number one team. The Myanmar National League in its current guise is among the newer leagues in Southeast Asia having only launched in 2009 since when three sides have shared the title and a total of six teams have appeared in the AFC Cup.
Based on both success domestically and abroad, as well as a fanbase, we’ve selected four sides as Myanmar’s most popular clubs. Review the candidates and tell us your favourite”, AFC authorities said.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
