AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers: Myanmar placed in Group D with UAE

Myanmar women’s national football team is placed in Group D of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022 Qualifiers together with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) team, following a draw result announced on 24 June at the AFC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Myanmar will also face Lebanon and Guam in the same Group. A total of 26 Asian women teams are participating in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022 Qualifiers.
Defending champions Japan, 2018 runners-up Australia and third-placed China PR and hosts India have already qualified for the final stages of the tourney.
Group A will have three-time champions China Taipei, Bahrain, Turkmenistan and Laos, while Group B will see Vietnam, Tajikistan, Maldives and Afghanistan.
Group C consists of three-time winners DPR Korea, Singapore, Iraq and Indonesia with Myanmar, United Arab Emirates, Guam and Lebanon is running for Group D.
Group E will see 2003 runners-up Korea Republic, Uzbekistan and Mongolia, while the Philippines, Hong Kong and Nepal are placed in Group F.
In Group G, Jordan – the 2018 hosts, Iran and Bangladesh will play for further step while ASEAN star Thailand, Palestine and Malaysia are dreaming for the next stage in the Group H. — GNLM
