The Agriculture Department has been conducting awareness campaigns to provide technical support in post-flood farm recovery and replanting crops in flood-impacted areas.
Director-General Dr Ye Tint Tun managed to provide technical support in post-flood restoration plans in affected farmlands. During the campaign in Lewe Township and Pyinmana Township on 25 September, directors, officials concerned, and experts elaborated on ways to restore damaged farmland and soil and control possible pest threats after flood.
The department supported pesticides and fertilizer donated by agricultural companies at the events. Director U Zaw Lin donated K400,000 to flood-inflicted communities, including K100,000 contributions from the public through SMS transfer and K100,000 donations from experts. The awareness campaigns will be conducted in townships from other regions and states as well. — NN/KK
