Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker pays respects to elder persons in Myawady

Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than yesterday attended a ceremony in Myawady Township, Kayin State, that pays respect to the aged people on the occasion of the Myanmar Traditional New Year Day.
The Speaker and his wife, Members of Parliament,  departmental officials, religious associations and social groups released fingerlings into the Thaungyin River near the Thai –Myanmar  Friendship Bridge to mark the New Year Day.
Then, the speaker and Party visited Shwe Myin Won pagoda’s board of trustee office where health care service was being provided to elderly people.
They also attended the ceremony of paying respect to 274 elderly people held at the pagoda and donated cash and kind to the aged people. On the occasion, elderly people above 80 years old from five wards in Myawady were provided with cash and kind.— Myanmar News Agency
