Ancient dugout canoe found in Myaungmya Township

FB IMG 72An ancient dugout canoe was discovered in the Pulu creek in Myaungmya Township, Ayeyawady Region, on 8 November. It was delivered on 22 November to the Ayeyawady Region’s government for further inspection.
The boat was found buried below a depth of 12 feet in the Pulu Creek by fishermen who informed the authorities. The boat was excavated under the supervision of assistant director Daw Thida Win of the Ayeyawady Region’s Department of Archaeology and the National Museum and township administrators.
