ANRPC workshop on natural rubber industry held in Dawei

Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) workshop was held yesterday in Dawei with the aim of developing the natural rubber industry. The workshop focused on supply-demand and modelling of natural rubber.
In his opening speech at the workshop, Taninthayi Regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Myint San said rubber plays a pivotal role in manufacturing as it is an important raw industrial material. It can also help earn foreign currency, he said.
“Through this workshop, the stakeholders in the rubber supply chain and experts can exchange ideas concerning the supply, demand, and modelling of natural rubber,” he said.
He then urged participants to discuss the economic perspectives and rubber market conditions with experts.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Bich, the Secretary-General of the ANRPC, gave the greeting speech, while Dr. Ye Tint Tun, the Director-General of the Agriculture Department, explained the objectives behind the workshop and gave a presentation covering the Myanmar rubber industry with videos. As part of the workshop, experts from Cambodia and China and their local counterparts will hold seminars till 28 March. The Dawei traditional folk dance troupe performed at the workshop yesterday, and the ANRPC Secretary-General gave presents to members of the troupe.
