Anti-COVID-19 equipment normally imported as planned

The Ministry of Commerce currently imposes temporary import licence exemptions for medical supplies to control the COVID-19 and offers services to import the materials via the border trade camps daily.
Moreover, the ministry is working with the relevant departmental officials to facilitate the importation processes during public holidays as per the notifications and SOP.
A total of 10,801 oxygen concentrators and 33,942 test kits arrived at Yangon International Airport yesterday. A bowser carrying 20 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 20 tonnes of liquid oxygen (cylinders), 33 tonnes of liquid oxygen (cylinders), 5 oxygen generators, 12,248 home oxygen concentrators, 63,942 test kits and 21 tonnes of masks were also imported via Muse, Myawady, Chinshwehaw, Tachilek, Kampaiti and Kawthoung trade camps on the same day. These materials were imported by 69 vehicles of 38 companies.
In August, 133 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 32 tonnes of the liquid oxygen tank, 38 tonnes of liquid oxygen (cylinders), 5 generators, 22,813 home oxygen concentrators, 135,942 test kits, 183 tonnes of masks and 108,454 PPEs were allowed to be imported by 146 vehicles.
In July, 717 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 567 tonnes of the liquid oxygen tank, 114 tonnes of liquid oxygen (cylinders), 69,146home oxygen concentrators, 8 oxygen plants, 11 oxygen generators, 4 oxygen concentrators, 322,878 test kits, 1,104tonnes of masks and 182,975 PPE were allowed to be imported by 749 vehicles.
The Ministry of Commerce is also cooperating with the ministry concerned to import the medical supplies and it releases contact persons of the relevant departments and website address: Commerce.gov.mm for the people to know updated news.—MNA
