Anti-trafficking talks and Myanmar spelling contest held in Thegon

The awareness talks on anti-trafficking in persons and a spelling competition were held at the Community Centre of Information and Public Relations Department in Thegon Township, Natalin District of Bago Region yesterday.
The events aim to raise the knowledge of students regarding the anti-trafficking in persons.
First, township IPRD department head Daw Wint Nandar Htay highlighted the purpose of an event for the students regarding Anti-trafficking in Persons Day, which falls on 13 September, definition of human trafficking, different types of human trafficking in Myanmar, methods of human traffickers, suspicious persons, physical and mental impacts of being trafficked and legal punishments.
During the middle-school level Myanmar spelling competition, the officials presented awards to the students who won the multiple-choice section of Myanmar words. Then, the students observed the wall newspaper about anti-trafficking in persons, books and publications. They also visited the Public Library, and the officials clarified library procedures in detail. — Maung Shwe Win (Pyay)/KTZH
