Appointment of Ambassador of Sultanate of Oman to Myanmar agreed on

The Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has agreed to the proposed appointment of Mr Saleh Mohamed Ahmed Al Saqri as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar with residence in Hanoi.
Mr Saleh Mohamed Ahmed Al Saqri was born in 1965. In 1989, he graduated from Yarmouk University, Jordan with a Bachelor Degree in Literature specialized in History and Political Science and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman. In 1992, he was appointed as a Vice-Consul in the Consulate-General of the Sultanate of Oman in Zanzibar, Tanzania. In 1997, he served as Head of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Office for Economic Affairs in the Economic and Technical Cooperation Department. In 2004, he served at the Sultanate’s Embassy in Saudi Arabia and was appointed as a Deputy Head of Mission in 2008. In 2009, he was Deputy Head of the Economic and Technical Cooperation Department, Bilateral Cooperation Affairs with Arab Countries. In 2010, he was appointed as Deputy Head of the Department of Economic Communities and Dialogue Groups. In 2013, he served as Charge d’ Affaires at the Sultanate’s Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. In 2018, he was transferred to the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman. On 17 March 2020, he was appointed as Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
Mr Saleh Mohamed Ahmed Al Saqri is fluent in Arabic, English and Swahili. He is married with five sons and a daughter. — MNA
