Appointment of Iranian Ambassador to Myanmar agreed on

The Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has agreed to the proposed appointment of Mr Nassereddin Heidari as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar with residence in Bangkok.
Mr Nassereddin Heidari was born on 26 March 1963. He obtained PhD in International Relations from Allame Tabatabaei University of Tehran in 1993.
He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1991 and served as an Attaché, Disarmament & International Security Expert at the UN Affairs Office. He also served as Second Secretary at the Iranian Embassy in The Hague, the Netherlands from 1994 to 1998, as First Secretary, Senior Disarmament & International Security Expert at Disarmament & Non-Proliferation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1998 to 2002, as Second Counsellor at the Iranian Embassy in The Hague, the Netherlands from 2002 to 2006, as Deputy Secretary of the National Authority for CWC & Chemical Safety Conventions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2006 to 2014, as First Counsellor (Minister) at the Permanent Mission of Iran to the United Nations Office, Geneva, Switzerland, from 2014 to 2018, as Director at the Conventional Arms Control & Space Affairs Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2018 to 2019, and as Director at the Bilateral & Multilateral Diplomacy for International Information Security (Cyber Diplomacy) & Space Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2019 to 2023. From March 2024, he is serving as Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Thailand.
Mr Nassereddin Heidari is married and has two children. — MNA
