Under the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR), 1,002.71 tonnes of reserved rice will be distributed to flood-impacted regions, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.
Deputy Minister Dr Tin Htut for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation inspected APTERR’s rice storage facility located in Thanlyin Township, Yangon, on 22 September to ensure systematic storage operations and warehouse capacity management, thereby instructing officials concerned to connect with related institutions to distribute 1,002.71 tonnes of reserved rice to flood-stricken regions and states.
Afterwards, he met officials of the Agriculture Department in Insein Township, highlighting the development of agricultural production, ensuring dam and reservoir safety and reliability, and providing capacity building for the staff. — NN/KK
