Blue-Print 2025 of the ASEAN Economic Community was laid down in 2015, with a view to upgrading the unity of the ASEAN region in politics, economy and culture. The main principle of the ASEAN Economic Community is to create South East Asia as a unique market with the capacity of keeping abreast with the global countries and to create as a productive community in the region. A unique productive community means a community in which skilled workers including commodities and services can flow freely in the10 ASEAN countries. Here, free flow among the countries includes investments, finance and currency. The success of the ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2015proves a simple fact that many companies regard ASEAN as aunique market. The success of the ASEAN Economic Community will be proven here again in detail. According to the figures in 2014, ASEAN was the 7th largest economic powerin the world. GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the whole ASEAN region amounted to US $ 2.6 trillion, being the 3rd largest economy in Asia. Its GDP outnumbered that of India. During the period, 2007 and 2014, volume of global trade development reached US $ one trillion.24% out of the global trade development came from inter-trade among the ASEAN member countries. During this period, the ratio of ASEAN’s foreign direct investment across the world increased by 5% to 11%. The ASEAN community with a population of 622 million is the 3rd largest global market. Yet, among the 10 ASEAN nations many matters ranging from infrastructure at the base, technology in the middle and development in the end differ in level, having to overcome many challenges to transform intoa unique market. To be able to do so, a common policy framework must be implemented in accord with definite rules and regulations. Economic benefits will be obtained for the country only if Myanmar entrepreneurs have mastery of the said rules, regulations and disciplines. We therefore express our heartfelt welcome to the holding of the workshop on ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025.
