Athletes arrive back from SEA Games with nine golds, 18 silvers, 35 bronzes

A group of Myanmar athletes arrived back in Yangon on the night of 23 May after competing in the 31st South East Asian Games in Viet Nam.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Region Cabinet Ministers, Officials from the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Myanmar Sports Federation presidents, parents and fans welcomed back the athletes at the Yangon International Airport.
General Secretary of Myanmar Olympic Committee, Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Myo Hlaing, Aye Aye Aung from Kurash (+87kg) who won the gold medal, Pauk Sa from Billiards Men’s Singles event, Khaing Wah Phoo and May Honey Aung Lwin from the Vovinam women’s doubles unarmed event, Khin Hnin Wai, Phyu Phyu Than and Yamon Zin from Sepak Takraw Women’s Doubles Competition, Manar Kwee, Aik Soe Lin, Zin Lin Tun and Zaw Zaw from Vovinam four-men perform event, Yar Zar Tun, Aung Khaing Lin, Kyaw Thu Soe Aung, and Hein Htet Aung from Vovinam perform event, Ye Tun Naung, silver medallist in the men’s 50-metre pistol, Chit Soe Nwe and Ye Tun Naung from 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team, Myint Ko Ko, Htet Wai Lwin, Saw Moe Aung, Tun Min Thant, Aung Myo Thu from the men’s four-ore 1000m rowing event, Chu Myat Noe Wai from Judo (-57 Kg) event, Khaing Wah Phoo from the Vovinam Solo Arm Show Event, May Honey Aung Lwin from Solo Sword Competition, Tin Htoo Zaw from Long Stick Show, Pauk Sa and Min Sithu Tun from men’s doubles Billiard Competition, Naing Latt from 57kg of Boxing event, bronze medalists Thet Phyo Naing, Win Htike, Sai Min Wai, Thant Zin Oo, Min Naing, Aung Phyo Hein, Htet Wai Lwin, Myint Ko Ko, Aung Myo Thu, Myo Hlaing Win, Su Wai Phyo, Myint Myint Soe, Moe Ma Ma, and Su Su Lwin, from men’s and women’s Rowing and Canoeing events, Wai Lin Aung, Kyaw Zin Latt, Aung Myo Naing, Aung Myo Swe, Zin Ko Ko, Aung Ye Zaw, Aung Thu Min, Yamon Zin, Khin Hnin Wai, Nang Su Myat San, Aye Aye Than, Phyu Phyu Than and Nant Yin Yin Myint from men’s and women’ Sepak Takraw event, Wai Thu Lwin, Yar Zar Tun, Tin Htoo Zaw, Kyaw Ko Ko and Shwe Thet Htar from Vovinam events, Lin Htut Paing and Aye Nyein Htoo from Boxing event, Aye Marlar and Sel Whee from Judo event, Naw Boe Tayar from Weightlifting event, Aung Phyo from Snooker Men’s Singles event, team administrators and Myanmar international referees participated in the returning sport teams.
The State awarded K10 million to the bronze medallist, K20 million to the silver medallist, and K30 million to the gold medallist.
Coaches who have taught to honour the country will be awarded cash prizes at a ceremony.
During the competition, an additional cash prize of US$3,000 for each gold medallist, US$2,000 for each silver medallist, and US$1,000 for each bronze medallist were awarded in the individual competitions.
Similarly, US$1,000 for gold medallists, US$750 for silver medallists, and US$500 for bronze medallists were also awarded in the team-wise competitions. —MNA
