Athletes with disabilities participate in long journey wheelchair skill demonstration


In honour of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities which falls on 3 December, the Disabled Persons’ Wheelchair Skill Demonstration on Yangon-Mandalay Journey, was jointly conducted by Shwe Min Thar Foundation (Myanmar) and Yangon School for the Blinds.
The participants of the demonstration arrived at Tagundaing Roundabout in Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region, on 2 December, and they were welcomed by local people.
The participants left Yangon on 16 November and spent one night each in Hlegu, Bago, DaikU, Kyaukdaga, Pyu, Ottwin, Yedashe, Yeni, Lewe, Tatkon, Yamethin, Pyawbwe, Meiktila, Wundwin, Kume and Kyaukse along Yangon-Mandalay Highway.
In the evening, the Youth Band for the Blinds and Disabilities performed music and songs to the people at Manawraman People’s Square in Mahaaungmye Township.—Maung Pyi Thu (Mandalay)
