Authorities inspect natural disaster prevention training, storage of rescue and support equipment

The low-pressure area that is forming in the southeast of the Bay of Bengal and the adjacent Andaman Sea is gradually strengthening and may become a cyclone, and according to the forecasts, it can enter Myanmar. Emergency management exercises focused on rehabilitation tasks are currently being carried out in various regions and states to prepare for potential natural disasters and ensure effective relief efforts and cooperation.

Ministers, Commanders and departmental officials from respective regions and states observe the preparation for natural disasters at the Myanmar Fire Service Department Headquarters in Mayangon Township in Yangon, Phapun, Bogale, Shwe Thaung Yan, Chaung Tha, Ngwe Saung, Pathein, Thaboung, Hinegyi island and Mawlamyinekyun townships in Ayeyawady Region, factory and vehicle department of the Mandalay City Development Committee, Disaster Management Department in Chanmyathazi Township, relief storage facility, the Central Warehouse (Mandalay), Central Medicine Warehouse in Maha Aungmyay Township in Mandalay and PyinOoLwin Township on 8 and 9 May. — MNA /KZW
