Bandagon village’s earthen pots remain in high demand

potBago, 18 May — The pottery industry is thriving in Bandagon village, Bago Township, with local producers supplying earthen pots of all sizes.
Despite consumers in Myanmar shifting toward modern personal and household goods, earthenware pots remain an important product in the country.
The majority of residents in Bandagon Village, located beside Bago-Yangon road, are involved in earthenware production.
“In summer, earthen pots decorated with glaze are in high demand,” a local pottery owner said. “We sell various sizes of pots ranging from K 1,500 to K30,000 to pot brokerages in Yangon.”
Many people in Myanmar people prefer to use earthen pots to store drinking water. Myo Thein (Bago)
