Basic foodstuffs provided to artistes

The donation ceremony of basic foodstuffs for the artiste’s associations was held at MRTV on Pyay Road of Yangon Region yesterday.
In his remark, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said the donation ceremony was arranged for the contributions of Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, Yangon Region Economy Minister U Aung Than Oo and their families. Amid the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the entertainment industry of Myanmar is also affected and the artistes face hardships.
Therefore, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing conducted a donation ceremony for the artistes who face difficulties in their keeps in November. The successive basic foodstuffs donations aim for the artistes to run their careers in unity in the long run and entertain the people.
Then, Region Economy Minister U Aung Than Oo and Advocate-General U Htay Aung respectively made remarks.
Then, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn and other officials handed over the donations to Myanmar Motion Picture Association, Myanmar Music Association (Central) and Myanmar Comedians Association.
Myanmar Motion Picture Association Chairman Director Kyi Soe Tun expressed words of thanks on behalf of the respective associations.
The Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development donated 3,010 1-litre cooking oil bottles and 3,010 visses of beans, while 3,010 12-pyi of rice bag and 3,010 visses of salt by Yangon Region Economy Minister U Aung Than Oo.
The contributions were provided to a total of 3,010 artistes – 1,690 members of the Myanmar Motion Picture Association, 1,110 members of the Myanmar Music Association (Central) and 210 members of the Myanmar Comedians Association.
At noon, the Union minister attended the funeral of Sithu Bogale Tint Aung, Patron of the Myanmar Motion Picture Association and provided cash assistance to family members.
The Union minister inspected the MRTV re-transmission station in Thandwe Township of Rakhine State and provided cash assistance to the staff on 17 December evening.
The MRTV broadcasts from 258 re-transmission stations across the nation with an Analogue system. Of them, 153 stations were extended to the DVB-T2 system and 16 re-transmission stations broadcast in the whole Rakhine State, including Thandwe Township. — MNA
