Battalion commander-level flag-raising meeting held between Myanmar-Bangladesh border guard forces

A battalion commander-level flag-raising meeting was held between the Myanmar-Bangladesh border guard forces on 20 March in Maungtaw, Rakhine State.
The meeting was attended by the Myanmar side led by Police Lt-Col Kyaw Naing Soe, Commanding Officer from No 2 Border Guard Force and 11 representatives from the Myanmar Police Force, and the Bangladesh delegation led by Lt-Col Muhammad Saiful Islam Chowdhury, Battalion Commander from No 34 Bangladesh Border Guard (Cox Bazaar) and 15 representatives.
Both sides cordially and frankly discussed matters relating to current security in the Myanmar-Bangladesh border region, the prevention of illegal infiltration in the border area, trans-border criminal cases, joint patrolling between the border guards of the two countries, and the holding of the company commander-level and outpost commander-level flag-raising meetings in addition to the battalion commander level between the border guards of Myanmar and Bangladesh.
